We can only design a better future together

"Can I do something as a single person?" Asks humanity. We are convinced that every step and may they be so small, still makes a valuable contribution to a common goal.

The trade, attracts with unbeatable offers and the consumer reacts to it with unconscious buying behavior. The meter -high mountains of garbage on land and in the water, the extermination of the mineral resources, the air pollution and the associated life -threatening dangers for humans, fauna and flora are no longer a secret. The principle: The demand determines the supply. But this also means that we can learn from the past and choose a conscious consumption every day. With his buying behavior, each one of us influences the direction where society, the climate and life move on our planet.

Sustainable consumption means rethinking your own buying behavior and sincerely questioning buying decisions.

We want to drive ahead with our values as well as transparent information and effective tips (purchase) decisions, the change from the unconscious consumption and the throw-away company towards a resource-saving, future-proof and ecologically valuable interaction.

How do I recognize sustainable products?

To decide whether a product is sustainable, it is important to look at it in a holistic context. The main thing is to use existing resources as best as possible to maximize the life cycle of a product with a high usage time and to find simple solutions for return to the value creation cycle as well as opportunities for meaningful reservations and repairs.

Ask yourself before buying:

  • Is the design timeless or just a trend?
  • Is the product produced sustainable, climate -neutral and fairly produced?
  • Is the material of high quality and robust to withstand a high use of use?
  • Is the element versatile, modular flexible and therefore often usable and sensibly expandable?
  • Can I recycle or repair the object to 100 %?

5 tips for conscious purchase decisions

Tip 1: sensitize your perception.

Find yourself when you shop out of an emotion. For example, never go shopping with empty stomach. Why? Because then you will buy a lot more than you really need.
Do you let ads to social media to impulsive purchases because the style is exactly yours, your euphoria determines your actions or because you want to make your status visible? Ask yourself if you really need it (now) or whether the discount is your drive.

Tip 2: Less, but better!

Consciously choose a few but high quality products that are in many ways in use. You will accompany you for a long time and should you break after many years, it is great if you can repair, re-or upcycles them. High -quality products can still be resold even after years. Even if the current investment in these purchase decisions is higher, it is worth it.

Tip 3: Quality has your price

Fair prices, mean fair wages and a fair value chain. The quality of the product is very important to a sustainably oriented company. Especially if you buy a regionally produced product, you not only know which materials are used and where they come from, but you will send a sign for shorter emission -reduced paths, you support smaller companies and contribute to the fact that productions can take place directly in Germany. Orientation when choosing really good, sustainable and high -quality game products give you the seals “Game good” or “particularly development -promoting”.

Tip 4: Minimalism is freed

Trend or future model? A minimalist lifestyle is often considered a waiver. However, people who live after the “less, but better” principle perceive the focus on the essentials as liberation and even as a profit and booster of happiness. Empty walls and free space areas may often appear bare and boring at first glance - but they create more “air” in order to be able to take a deep breath again and the creativity is demonstrably stimulated. Try it yourself and watch your well -being occupy more space.

Finally, the basic attitude, towards more minimalism, changes the unhealthy excessive consumption behavior. So you can question whether you really always have to own everything yourself or whether exchange exchanges, second hand or joint purchases can be considered.

Tip 5: start a wish list

What do you wish Fill a list of all your unfulfilled wishes. Above all, write down the material wishes, but also experiences that you still want to fulfill. Be sure to be in good hands here and wait for you when you are really important. How do you know if a wish is really important? Put the list in a drawer for two weeks. Then read your notes again and stroke everything that is no longer relevant. You will be amazed at what wishes are often only of short duration.

Toys in abundance?

When buying toys, pay attention to certain values, such as responsibility, sustainability or quality, convey them unconsciously via the toy to their children. Children grow up with those values they get in the way. That is why it is particularly important for parents to become aware of their own values and beliefs, because children learn from their closest role models.
