We tried the Stapelstein® elements at a secondary school and they are also excellent for older children! First, the students curiously tried out the Stapelstein® elements. They contributed many great ideas, which we implemented in the following period. The children particularly enjoy using the stones for active breaks. They especially love balancing games, such as "the floor is lava".
They also try out how many children can stand together on the highest stacked tower for the longest time, or they use the overturned stones for spinning top games.
From the beginning, the stones have also been used daily as seating. Since the class has some very tall and some rather small students, the Stapelstein® elements are particularly suitable as seating for these children, as the seat height can always be optimally adjusted. Some students also appreciate the possibility of dynamic or flexible seating by turning the stones over, which is very beneficial in the daily school routine. Finally, the elements are also very popular as stools in the reading corner.
In addition to being used as seating and for free play during breaks, we were also able to use the Stapelstein® elements in class leader hours for throwing and catching games and for cooperation games, and we had a lot of fun with it. And even in lessons, the Stapelsteine served as a help for sorting materials: for example, I was able to use them very well at a learning station in the subject of German on the topic of parts of speech.
The Stapelstein® elements are an enrichment for our school routine and greatly accommodate the children's desire to experiment and move.
