Basic functions of Stapelstein® elements
Our Stapelstein® elements at a glance:
With the help of Stapelstein® elements, children can gain meaningful experiences that they can better absorb and internalize through movement. These play ideas with Stapelstein® activate body and mind.
Stacking games
Create life-size play worlds with Stapelstein® elements. If Originals are placed on top of each other, a stable stack is created. If you place them offset or with the round side on top of each other, a wobbly tower is formed. With the Stapelstein® Inside elements, you can expand the stacking game as you wish. Whether stacked inside each other or on top of each other, Inside is fascinating both as a single set and in combination with Originals.
Sorting games
The different colors of Stapelstein® Originals encourage you to arrange them. For example, color sequences or patterns can be formed in stacks or on the floor. To increase the difficulty, not only the color but also the orientation of the elements can play a role when sorting, for example whether they are upside down or on their side. The Inside elements provide even more tricky sorting and playing fun.
Hide-and-go-seek
All kinds of objects can be hidden under the Stapelstein® Original but also under Stapelstein® Inside in order to find or uncover them in the game. If you connect two Originals using the waves, you can hide larger or more items in this so-called wobble egg.
Top tip: the Inside elements fit exactly into a Original wobbly egg and the individual elements can be discovered layer by layer, Matryoshka-style.
Balance games
Great balance paths can be built with Stapelstein® products. Depending on whether the elements are on the top or bottom, it is harder or easier to keep your balance. The Inside elements in particular, with their different sizes, add an extra fun factor to the balance game. For example, a child can balance a ball on the curved surface instead of their own body. The Stapelstein® Board expands the possibilities for playfully training balance.
Game idea balance letters
Each child stands on a Stapelstein® Original. The game leader says a letter. The children then balance on the element on one leg and try to write the letter in the air with the other leg. How many letters can you write?

Spinning top games
The Stapelstein® Original as well as Inside and the Board can either be transformed into a spinning top or other things can be spun in them. The Stapelstein® Original and the Board function as a great giant spinning top when they are placed on their side or on the round head side. Children can also spin around on the head side themselves by sitting in the hollow side and propelling it with their feet and hands.
Water features
The Stapelstein® Original is waterproof and has a strong buoyancy in the water due to its extremely light weight. But please note: Only use in shallow water and under adult supervision. Stapelstein® elements are not buoyancy aids! Incidentally, both Originals and Inside elements can be stacked on water. The drum sounds are particularly unique when the element floats on the surface of the water.
Water race game idea
How much water can you move from one Stapelstein® Original to the next? Try to spill as little as possible. If you get as much water as possible into the last Stapelstein® Original, you win.

Throwing and catching games
The hollow side of the Stapelstein® Originals can be used to throw and catch balls, for example. The lightweight elements can be used as a throwing object - almost like a frisbee. For even more variety, try out Stapelstein® Inside elements. Here there is an even greater range of variety and different levels of difficulty. In addition, the Board can also be used as a kind of tennis racket.
Transport games
Collecting objects is a favorite activity for many children. The hollow side of the Stapelstein® elements are ideal for collecting different things and transporting them from one place to another. For example, water, sand, balls, cuddly toys, bulk material, colored pencils or whatever else they find exciting.
Fantasy Games
The Stapelstein® elements are what the players make of them! This means that each color can stand for something different. For example, blue could stand for the category animals, red for the number 5 and green for a movement - a somersault. If necessary, these new meanings can be written on the different colors with chalk and later washed off again. With a little imagination, many exciting games or funny stories can be created while playing.
Sound games
If you use the Stapelstein® elements as a drum, you will hear warm sounds. The type of sound can be very different. For example, drumming with the fingertips sounds like drizzle. Hard, powerful sounds are drummed with the flat of the hand or with the fist, while stroking the fine surface sounds like wind. Different surfaces and the height of the stack influence the sound. If the element is lying on water (in the bathtub or swimming pool), the sound of drumming becomes more intense. Try out different objects for drumming.
Game idea gossip & stomp
Listen carefully! One of the players claps a rhythm. Can you recreate this rhythm on the Stapelstein® Original?
